Located in Centerport, Long Island NY –  The farm started out as a kids Swing Set – my wife Liz planting flowers near the swing set to dress it up a bit.  After the kids ignored the swing set and the kids were older we donated it to a family in need.   Those flowers turned into more flowers and eventually some tomato plants and then before we knew it, chickens, dogs, fish – a rabbit and 8 hives were sprung from nowhere!  Liz and I spend a lot of time in the backyard – our friends may spend it on the beach or on vacations – we split a hive and added a new batch of chicks to the mess!!

So there you have it – a backyard farm was born.  Now we live by trial, error and lots of research and classes, and believe me – we have made our share of problems, but have learned very valuable lessons we hope share & inspire others to follow.  Most of all of  our experiences on the farm, the bees are out biggest challenge and most satisfying.  Join us.  Come along on this ride we call backyard farming and share your experiences with us!
